Position Available

Digital Marketing Managers are in charge of planning and managing marketing campaigns that promote a company's brand, products, and services. Your duties will include planning campaigns, analyzing metrics, and identifying trends for our clients. Typically, you should have experience in art direction and social media.

Digital Marketing Job Responsibilities:

  • Plans and executes all web, SEO/SEM, database marketing, email, social media, and display advertising campaigns.

  • Designs, builds, and maintains our social media presence.

  • Measures and reports performance of all digital marketing campaigns and assesses against goals (ROI and KPIs).

  • Identifies trends and insights and optimizes spend and performance based on the insights.

  • Brainstorms new and creative growth strategies through digital marketing.

Digital Marketing Qualifications / Skills:

  • Creating and maintaining client relationships

  • Highly creative with experience in identifying target audiences and devising digital campaigns that engage, inform, and motivate


Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in marketing or a related field

  • Proven working experience in digital marketing, particularly within the industry

  • Demonstrable experience leading and managing SEO/SEM, marketing database, email, social media and/or display advertising campaigns

  • Experience in optimizing landing pages and user funnels

  • Experience with A/B and multivariate experiments

  • Solid knowledge of website and marketing analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, NetInsight, Omniture, WebTrends, SEMRush, etc.)

  • Working knowledge of ad serving tools

  • Experience in setting up and optimizing PPC campaigns on all major search engines

Associate, Data Science

Position Available

The Data Scientist is responsible for advising the business on the potential of data, to provide new insights into the business’s mission, and through the use of advanced statistical analysis, data mining, and data visualization techniques, to create solutions that enable enhanced business performance.  The Data Scientist also plays a leading role in the management of a number of projects in support of the business where he is required to leverage and synthesize large volumes and variety of data in order to enhance the business’s understanding of individual population segments, propensities, outcomes, and decision points. He/She combines data, computational science, and technology with consumer-oriented business knowledge in the business setting, to drive high-value insights into the business and drive high-impact through the business levers at the business’s disposal.


Data Scientist duties and responsibilities

Associate, Gender Development Advisor

Description:
The Gender Advisor leads the integration of gender sensitive programming elements in accordance with local regulation, global best practice, donor requirements and M&A requirements. The Gender Advisor participates in strategy, program implementation, program monitoring, evaluation in relation to gender integration in our client's businesses. This includes capacity building and technical assistance to business, government, civil society and community stakeholders. 

Job Summary / Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical leadership of the Projects to ensure integration of gender in the client's businesses or program interventions.

  • Design and deliver realistic and pragmatic gender strategies and programming interventions that will lead to positive gender equality outcomes.

  • Integrate gender equality considerations in Results-Based Management monitoring and reporting methods.

  • Track and report against gender indicators and dis-aggregate data by gender to analyze results within each domain.

  • Conduct gender assessments, reviews and audits to assess ways to continually target involvement of women in nutrition sensitive and nutrition specific activities.

  • Review and provide technical feedback on results and project reports to donors in order to ensure quality and full compliance with gender policy and progress towards achieving integration of gender in program.

  • Advise and support the client's businesses, programs and partners to integrate gender into activities.

  • Develop tools, frameworks and resources to enable better gender integration in the Project.

  • Identify successful practices in the client's businesses /project that can be showcased in publications, communication materials and conferences.

  • Prepare communications materials that highlight the gender equality programming, successes and lessons learnt.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience and demonstrated results in integration of gender in business/programs.

  • Knowledge of and experience with the design, management and implementation of nutrition, agriculture and livelihood programs.

  • Sensitivity to cultural differences and understanding of the socio-economic and political situation in Malawi and gender sensitive programming.

  • Ability to organize systems to monitor results.

  • Well-developed written and oral communication skills.

  • Ability to work well with others and to develop and maintain compatibility among project staff, subcontractors, consultants, and recipients of assistance.

  • Ability to travel as needed.


Qualifications:

  • A Master’s Degree or higher in the relevant subject area(s), preferably in Gender, Social Work, Public Health, International development, or Community Development, is required.

  • A Proven record of excellent management, leadership, decision-making and interpersonal skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to ensure gender integration in project design, implementation and M&E.

  • Effective English oral and written communication skills; ability to interact professionally in English.

A Java, C#, .Net, C, Sybase and Oracle Software Developer is generally responsible for the development, design and implementation of new or modified software products or ongoing business projects. As a Software Developer you will be involved in liaising with the client's team and other development teams to ensure software projects meet requirements.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Researching, designing, implementing and managing software programs

Associate, Environmental Specialist

Brief description


Maruma & Associates (M&A) is recruiting applicants for a part-time consulting position as an Associate, Environmental Impact Assessment Specialist to support the development of our client’s business and project based strategies.


M&A is a consulting firm in Tanzania focused on business strategy and development with a focus on social and environmental issues among other critical fields. Responsibilities:


The incumbent will provide insight, direction, and planning advice to our client’s development/ strategy/ project team/s, on the requirements of an EIA, and will conduct a retrospective analysis of the effects (in terms of deforestation, degradation and associated emissions) of any regulatory and administrative changes that took place in conjunction with the assignment.  She/he will function with a high degree of adaptability, independence and latitude, exercise judgment, and manage his/her activities to produce high quality deliverables on time.



Qualifications and Background:


Education:

Completion of a Master's Degree in any of a wide range of disciplines including international development, environmental sciences, biology, law, geography, forestry, agronomy, social sciences, economics, or project management.


Experience:

Minimum ten years of progressively responsible, professional-level experience in carrying out Environmental Impact Assessments or similar.


Skills/Knowledge:

The incumbent will offer expertise in Environmental Impact Assessment and have experience successfully working with governmental bodies in developing countries as well as the natural resource management NGO sector.



Required skills and abilities should include:

  • Proven knowledge of development of EIAs in developing countries

  • Ability to plan, implement and monitor project activities by applying management skills

  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with a wide range of counterparts representing different education levels and skill sets

  • Ability to negotiate sensitive and complex issues through initiative, imagination, resourcefulness, and diplomacy

  • Ability to organize, analyze, interpret, and utilize studies and program performance data

  • Experience preparing written reports and statistical tables using standard computer programs in the Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
